Tebow or Sanchez? Who cares?

Ever since Tim Tebow was traded to the Jets there has been a lot of discussion as to which quarterback will get most of the snaps this upcoming season. I have a different take: Who really gives a damn? Both Tebow and Mark Sanchez are average quarterbacks. One throws a little better and the other is a better runner. Maybe if they had a child together the Jets would have one good quarterback but as it stands, they have two guys that can’t be 16-game starters in the NFL.

Now I hear the argument that Sanchez has led the Jets to two AFC championship games and Tebow led the Broncos to the playoffs last season. I always enjoy when people try to insult my intelligence like I don’t actually watch football. The Jets and Broncos were successful in spite of their quarterbacks. No one ever says Trent Dilfer led the Ravens to a Super Bowl title. No one ever brags how Brad Johnson was the reason the Bucs won a Super Bowl. Those two were just along for the ride. Sanchez and Tebow are no different.

I believe Tebow can be a very successful player in the NFL if used right. I don’t believe he can be an every-game starter at quarterback but he does add value to a team. However, that’s not what he wants. He wants to be a quarterback, which I don’t think is realistic. Sanchez, on the other hand, is a dolt. I heard coming out of college that he was dumb as a box of rocks and he’s done nothing to disprove that label in the NFL. He’s mentally weak and the addition of Tebow certainly isn’t going to help that shortcoming.

Also, remember that Rex Ryan is a lot like his father, Buddy. And just like Buddy his act grows old after a while. I actually like Rex a lot and I enjoy how he speaks his mind but he doesn’t know when to tone it down. Players will respond to that type of coaching at times but not in all circumstances. Listen, when you get blown out by the Eagles and your locker is in turmoil, no one gives a damn if the Jets are the kings of New York. Just shut your mouth and worry about your football team.

So ESPN and all the other wastes of sports media outlets can argue all they want which guy is going to play quarterback for the Jets. In the end it won’t matter because the Jets are going 8-8 regardless. Yes Bills fans, you actually have a shot to finish in second place this year. I guess the world really is going to end.

Fantasy Break: The real loser with Tebow coming to New York is Shonn Greene. He sucks anyway and if Greene is going to lose those 1-yard touchdown runs, then he really becomes useless to fantasy owners.
